Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! coming to Nintendo Switch this November

Tonight during a special Pokémon event held in Tokyo, The Pokémon Company unveiled the next entries in the series which will be making their way to Nintendo Switch later this year. Heavily inspired by Pokémon Go, Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! will take trainers back in a newly reimagined update of Pokémon Yellow‘s Kanto region.

Featuring all 151 original Pokémon, Alolan forms, and one never before seen Pokémon, this game won’t feature random encounters or battles with wild Pokémon, but will instead have players tossing Poké Balls using their Joy-Con’s motion control capabilities to catch ’em all!

Additionally, a new Poké Ball Plus accessory will be released which can double as a Joy-Con, and features the ability to take Pokémon from the game on the go. The Poké Ball Plus accessory will feature motion control, lights, sounds, and vibration and can be used in place of the Pokémon Go Plus accessory with Pokémon Go.

For the first time ever, Players can hand off a Joy-Con to a friend to experience simultaneous cooperative gameplay, allowing trainers to collaboratively catch Pokémon, or to battle, and adventure together.

Walking Pokémon will return with this release, again featuring your partner Pokémon walking behind you. Smaller Pokémon, such as Eevee or Pikachu, will sit on the player’s shoulders or head, much like Partner Pokémon in Pokémon Go. Integration with Pokémon Go will also allow players to transfer Pokémon to their Nintendo Switch version of either title or to transfer special items to their smartphone.

Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! will be released on November 16 worldwide. You can check out the debut trailer for the games below to see them in action!

The Pokémon Company has also confirmed that a new core entry in the series is still in development for Nintendo Switch and is planned for release in the latter half of 2019.
